I hold a Masters in Gestalt Psychotherapy and a diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapeutic Counselling . I trained at the Metanoia Institute, a leading centre for psychotherapy training in the UK.
I have practised for several years at a private counselling agency before commencing my own private practice. I have also volunteered at Community Housing and Therapy which is a therapeutic community supporting people who live with severe and enduring mental health conditions including personality disorders, mood disorders and psychosis. I also continue to support the training faculty at Metanoia working with students.
Initially I trained as a Medical Speech and Language Therapist working for many years with adults in various NHS settings. My focus has been on helping clients adjust to the impact of illness on their way of being; mental health conditions and in facing life-limiting conditions.
I have always been interested in therapy and curious as to how it works. This led me to complete my training as a Gestalt Psychotherapist which involved looking in depth at understanding the human condition from various view points and in deepening and broadening my ways of working with people. I have a passion for helping people understand themselves and in navigating life's journey creatively.
I am a registered psychotherapist with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP); and am also a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).
